Love and Religion

This is the story of Rohit who had come to Mumbai after completing his education in his home town. He had search for a hostel in Mumbai when he was in his home town. After reaching Mumbai he visited the hostel. The condition of the hostel was not so good but as Rohit has come to search job in Mumbai, so his financial condition was not so good that he can afford a good hostel. This hostel was made by Britisher for the accommodation of there staffs. But after independence of India this hostel was run by a Church Trust. So things were not so clean and even the room had more people then it can handle. But this is called Mumbai.

Rahul was allotted the first room from the main entrance of that floor. On the other side of the gate there was ladies hostel, so as a boy he was happy that he will be living very near to girls hostel. On the next day Rohit visited many offices in search of job but unable to get job. So at night he was talking to his roommate Ravi, who was three year senior to him. Ravi advice Rohit to visit a office where he had worked before. So on the next day Rohit visited that office and got job. But he did not asked about the salary as it was Rohit first job. Like this one month passed and Rohit got his first salary and when he saw the salary he was socked as it was just Rs 6000 rupees and out of which he has to pay Rs 5000 as hostel fees which include dinner. So with rest one thousand he has to manage his breakfast and lunch and even transportation and mobile expenses. It was so difficult that he stop taking bus for transport and breakfast in the morning. He started walking to his office every day which was 3 KM away from his hostel. So slowly he started to hate his job but what to do he has not other option. Every Sunday he use to email his resume to different company. But he never got response. 

Like this four months passed away. Rohit use to search his happiness in culture activities of the hostel and as he was a good dancer and good looking boy, he become famous among the girls in the girls hostel which was next to the room of Rohit. One night Rohit heard that girls were screaming, so he woke up and knock the door of girls hostel. One girl open the gate and said Rohit that one girl had drink poison and her condition is very bad right now. So Rohit did not thought much and went inside the girls hostel and pick up the girl in his arms and took her to the taxi stand which was near by and asked the taxi to take to J J Hospital. Other girls inform the same to the hostel supervisor Miss Lata and visited J J Hospital with her. By that time doctor came out of the operation theater and said "good you bring her at right time, if you have been late by half hour then things would have been very serious". Miss Lata was very happy with the effort of Rohit and said "when ever there will be any emergency we will call you and from now you can come inside girls hostel with my permission". From that day he become the star of the hostel and especial of the girl who had drink poison. The name of the girl who had drink poison was Rosen.

As Rohit allowed to come inside girls hostel, he went in and visit Rosen and asked her what was the reason behind drinking poison. As Rosen was very impressed by Rohit and was very thankful of Rohit for saving his life, so she told that "she belong to a christian family and her parents does not want to send her to Mumbai for job. But she fight with them and had come to Mumbai to prove herself. But it has been five months I am here but unable to get job, all the money I had is now finished. So she had no other way but just to kill herself". As Rohit was also financial low, so he said "I cannot help you in money but I will help you in getting job". So Rohit started taking leave on every Tuesday and Friday. In those days Rohit and Rosen visited many office and gave interview. Rohit asked some money from his home to help Rosen. But this leave in his office created problem for Rohit and his boss scolded him very badly. So Rohit wanted to leave the job but due to his financial problem he was unable to do that.

At last after one month postman came and gave a letter to Rohit. It was his appointment letter and this time he check his salary first. In the letter it was written that he will receive a salary of 20,000 Rupees per month, which was more then three times of his present salary. Rohit thought to share this news with Rosen, so he went to her room in girls hostel. When he enter Rosen's he saw that Rosen was reading a letter which look exactly the same as his letter. So he slowly went behind Rosen and saw what she was reading. It was her appointment letter in the same company. Then Rohit said "congratulation, as now we both will work for the same company". Rosen got up and saw Rohit appointment letter and hug him. This was their first hug, both kept hugging each other for few minutes. Then they realized that they have hug each other, so they stop hugging and handshake each other. The next day Rohit resign from his present job.

On the joining date Rohit and Rosen meet the boss of the company and boss asked them "are you in love with each other? as I have seen you both in interview and you both look more then friends". Rohit replied "No sir, we are friends and we leave near by in same floor". Boss replied "don't worry we have to do nothing with your relationship. Just remember your first priority should be our company. We have great expectation from you both". After the office was over Rosen took Rohit to Marin line, both sit there and Rosen said to Rohit "I Love You", Rohit was very happy to hear that and hug Rosen and said "I also love you a lot". That was there first day of office and first day of love.

Like this two year passed by then Rosen decided to take Rohit to her house to meet her parents and to discuss about their marriage. So Rosen took Rohit and visited her house and introduce Rohit to her father. Rosen's father was not happy with decision so he did not talk with Rohit. Rohit tried his best to convince Rosen's father but he failed. So Rohit told Rosen that better he should leave now. So Rohit went back to Mumbai the same day but Rosen stayed at her home for few more days. Then Rosen come bay to Mumbai and joined office. In the evening Rosen and Rohit sit together in Marine line and talked about their relationship. Rosen said she want to go back to her home town and work there and she also asked Rohit that he should also come to her home town and work there. As both have now two years of experience so they thought it would be easy to get job in Rosen's home town. So both resign from there job and went to Rosen's home town named Ahmednagar. But things were not so easy. In Ahmednagar the knowledge of local language was much required, so Rohit was unable to find job but Rosen got job. Rohit stayed in a working men hostel and keep searching for job but unable to find a job. Then Rohit thought of going back to Mumbai as he has almost spend all his saving and there was no chance of getting job in Ahmednagar. But just a day before travelling to Mumbai, Rohit got a call for job and they asked to join the next day. So, Rohit accepted the offer and join the job.

After getting job, Rohit next mission was to impress Rosen's father and to convince him for their marriage. Rohit was a Hindu boy but to impress Rosen's father, he started going Church every Sunday. Even he started attending prayer meeting in which Rosen's father was going. Like this six months passed away and Rosen's father started noticing him. Then that day came when Rosen's Father talk to Rohit and asked him about his family and future plan. Rohit explain that as Rosen want to live in Ahmednagar, so he also wants to settle in Ahmednagar. He also explain that he belong to a Hindu family but his family is ready for court marriage as both family religion are different. But Rosen's father told Rohit to convert to Christian religion and get married to Rosen in Church.

Rohit explain the whole situation to his family. His family was totally against converting religion and told Rohit, if you change religion then you have to forget us. It was a difficult situation for Rohit, he was unable to talk a decision, Rosen told that if you want you can go back to your family. But still then I will love you and never get married to any other person. She told that you are my first and last love. After thinking for almost one month Rohit decided to convert his religion to Christianity. Then he convert his religion and become Christian and got married to Rosen. But Rohit family did not attended the marriage and even broke all their contact with Rohit. Rohit was happy with Rosen, they took a home and lived in Ahmednagar. But somewhere in his heart Rohit always missed his parents and other family members. This the end in which Rohit gain his love but loses his family.
